Checking in
In order to check into our hospital you have to come to Clinicco’s reception between the hours 14.00 and 16.00. Usually, patients are checked into the hospital a day previously to the surgical intervention. Our colleagues will draw up the Patient Observation Chart, which will include all medical details during the hospitalization period.
When checking into the hospital, please submit the following documents:
- identification document or identity card
- reference ticket (with the seal of CNAS (Health Insurance House)) in triplicate, issued by a cardiologist / orthopaedic physician (depending on the case) or a general practitioner
- Salary certificate endorsed by CNAS ((Health Insurance House)) (for patients who are not from the County of Brasov); in case you want a medical leave on the certificate there has to be mentioned the number of leave days you benefited from during the last 12 months
or - pension coupon
or - pension coupon and retirement decision in case you are medically retired
or - certificate from CNAS (Health Insurance House) from your county of residence in case you are an unemployed person from other county than Brasov
Besides the documents mentioned above for the orthopaedics and cardiovascular surgery departments, you still need the following analyses and investigations.
Necessary analyses and investigations for checking into the orthopaedics department
- Cardiology consultation
- Pulmonary X-rays
- Laboratory analyses
- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
- Bleeding Time
- Coagulation Time
- Glycaemia
- Urea
- Creatinine
- Fibrinogen
- Prothrombin index
- Samples of liver
- Urinalysis
- Urine culture *
- Throat swab *
*these analyses should be carried out at least 2 weeks before checking into the hospital, because, in case an infection is detected it may be treated. Both the recommendation for analyses as well as the treatment of an eventual infection may be performed by your general practitioner.
Analyses and investigations necessary for checking into the cardiovascular surgery department
For valvular patients:
- Dental Panoramic Radiography + stomatological examination by means of which there is confirmed the absence of any outbreaks of infection and caries
- Pharyngeal secretion (throat swab)
- Ear examination
- Urine culture
- Gynaecological exam (only for women)
For coronary patients:
- Pharyngeal secretion (throat swab)
- Urine culture
Also, when checking into the hospital, you have to bring your personal hygiene items (towel, slippers, teeth brush etc), 2-3 pyjamas and a cup.
After filling in the Patient Observation Chart, you will be required to read carefully the Consent to the medical procedures you will undergo, and then sign it. After that you will be accompanied to your room by one of the hospital’s general nurses. When you arrive in your room you will have to change into hospital clothes (pyjamas, slippers); during the hospitalization your clothes will be kept in a special wardrobe intended for this purpose.
Visit of the physician
In the same day, one of the room physicians which will discuss with you your detailed medical history will asses the laboratory tests and, if necessary, will recommend the performance of other medical analyses. The specialist physician and the anaesthesiologist who will assist your case will also visit you and you will discuss with them your diagnosis and the treatment options.
