Cardiovascular surgery
Our cardiovascular department has established a double premiere: the performance of the first surgery on open heart in Brasov and the first such intervention from the private system of Romania. The most renowned cardiovascular surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and surgical nurses from Heart Institute in Cluj, were relocated at Brasov in order to treat patients suffering from heart diseases.
Our medical team is the only one in the country which carries out, on a routine basis, aortocoronary bypasses on heart while beating and valvular plasties, including mitral valve complex plasties, state of the art surgical methods, having major benefits for the patients as compared to the classical interventions.
Among the cardiovascular surgery operations we perform are also included surgery of mechanical complications of acute myocardial infarction: geometrical left ventricle geometry reconstruction conducted for ventricular aneurysm, mitral valve plasty in ischemic mitral regurgitation, surgical treatment of ventricular septal defect post-infarction.
We also approach complex cardiac diseases which impose combined surgical interventions: aortocoronary bypass + prosthesis / valvular plasty, aortocoronary bypass + treatment of mechanical complications of acute myocardial infarction, aortocoronary bypass + treatment of carotid stenosis, multiple valvular prosthesis.
Other segments of pathology that can be solved in our service are represented by adult congenital heart malformations, cardiac tumours as well as cardiovascular surgery procedures (bypasses at supra-inguinal level).
In collaboration with interventional cardiologist we perform the implantation of vascular prosthesis for treatment of abdominal aortic or thoracic-abdominal aneurysms, complicated or non-complicated, this being the most modern method of treatment providing a minimum of risk and maximum of conform to the patient.
