Conditions and information regarding admission to the Ortopaedics Department

Admission to our Department with the view to undergoing surgical interventions shall be made based on the pre-established appointment, the referral (issued by the family physician or by another consultant) and the National Health Insurance Card.

You are also required to undergo certain lab work before admission. You can find the required lab work and documents in the list enclosed herein (it depends where it shall be positioned). This list also contains some pieces of advice.

For admission you have to present yourself at the Clinicco reception desk at 2 p.m. on the convened date and you shall undergo the surgical intervention on the following day.

ATTENTION! In the two weeks prior to the surgery you might be asked to stop any treatment that inhibits blood coagulation. Such treatments include Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen etc. You should ask the attending physician/the physician who monitors you what medicine to take, even on the day of the surgery. If you suffer from diabetes, a heart condition or other conditions, the surgeon might ask you to undergo a specialty exam prior to the admission.
